Not so long ago, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk were happily raising a daughter together. They’d been a couple since 2015. But in 2019, not long after Cooper’s smash hit movie A Star is Born, suddenly they split. What happened to drive them apart? Well, there was plenty of speculation, and eventually Shayk spoke to the media herself.

News of the split broke in the summer of 2019 after a lot of conjecture in the press. But the incredibly private couple still didn’t speak about the matter themselves. That was left to anonymous sources who revealed the details to news outlets. They explained that Cooper and Shayk had simply grown dissatisfied with each other.

Shayk has made it very clear how important privacy is to her in the past. “Because my work requires me to be out there, I just decided my personal life will be quiet,” she told Glamour magazine in 2019. “That’s why it’s called personal, because it’s something for you and your family, and I feel happy with it.”

Nonetheless, the world desperately wanted to know every detail about the model’s relationship with the mega-famous film star. And the media had picked up on several tantalizing pieces of information at the beginning of their liaison. For example, both halves of the couple had been dating other people just before they got together. Cooper had been seeing Suki Waterhouse, while Shayk was with Cristiano Ronaldo.
